Avrupa birincisi, Dünya beşincisidir. 2014 yılında 4 milyar
$’lık ciro ve 640 milyon $’lık ihracat hacmi ile GSMH’da
önemli bir paya sahiptir ve yaklaşık 20.000 kişiye istihdam
sağlamaktadır.
Hammaddelerini büyük oranda doğadan elde eden çimento
endüstrisi, hammadde sahalarında ve çevrelerinde
madencilik faaliyetleri nedeniyle doğal, ekolojik ve sosyal
etkiler yarattığının bilincindedir. Öte yandan ekonomik
kalkınma için sanayinin sürdürülebilirliği esastır. Bu
farkındalık ile sektör, bozulmasından sorumlu olduğu
tüm sahaların türler bazında doğal yapılarının yeniden
düzenlenmesi, doğal dengenin kurulması, insanların ya
da diğer canlıların yeniden güvenle yararlanabileceği
hale getirilmesi konusuna hassasiyetle yaklaşmakta ve
sürdürülebilir arazi yönetim uygulamalarını da ön planda
tutmaktadır.
Bu kapsamda, üyeleri tarafından yıllardır yürütülmekte
olan rehabilitasyon faaliyetlerinin yanısıra, 2013 yılının
ikinci yarısında Türkiye Çimento Müstahsilleri Birliği
öncülüğünde, çimento sektörü hammadde sahalarının
rehabilitasyonu konusunda çalışmalar yapmak üzere
Orman Genel Müdürlüğü, Çevre ve Şehircilik Bakanlığı ve
Maden İşleri Genel Müdürlüğü ile işbirliği başlatılmıştır.
Çalışmaların ilerlemesi ile birlikte ocak rehabilitasyonu
konusunda etkinliğin, bilinçli yaklaşımın artırılmasına
yönelik olarak 2014 yılından bu yana ilgili STK’lardan da
teknik destek alınmaktadır.
Çalışmalar dahilinde TÇMB, Dünya Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma
İş Konseyi Çimento Sürdürülebilirlik Girişimi tarafından
hazırlanmış olan Ocak Rehabilitasyonu Kılavuzu ile
Biyoçeşitlilik Yönetim Planı Kılavuzu’nun Türkçe çevirilerini
tamamlamıştır. TÇMB, ayrıca, sektörümüzde hem ulusal
mevzuat gereği hem de sahip olunan farkındalıkla
halihazırda yürütülen “doğaya yeniden kazandırma”
çalışmalarında doğru planlama yapmak, harcanan zamanı
ve maliyeti etkin kullanmak, rehabilitasyon örneklerinde
alternatifler yaratmak ve böylece doğru çevresel
kazanımları sağlayabilmek amacıyla başta çimento sektörü
olmak üzere tüm madencilik sektörünün kullanımına
sunulması planlanan rehber niteliğinde bir döküman
yayınlama hazırlığındadır.
TÇMB maden sahalarının rehabilitasyonuna ilişkin olarak
tüm ulusal ve uluslararası etkinliklere katılım sağlayarak iyi
uygulama örneklerini paylaşmayı ve öncü rolünü korumayı
bir misyon olarak kabul etmektedir.

in Europe and the fifth in the world in terms of
production. It had a substantial share in GNP with
a turnover of 4 billion USD and an export volume
of 640 million USD and provided employment for
approximately 20.000 people in 2014.
The cement industry obtained its raw materials
substantially from nature, is conscious that it creates
natural, ecological and social effects because of the
mining operations at raw material quarries and their
surroundings. On the other hand, for the economical
development the sustainability of industry is
fundamental. With this awareness the sector
approaches sensitively to the issue of the recovery
of the natural structures of all quarries which it
is responsible of their damaging on the basis of
species, redressing of the natural balance, rendering
them for people or other creatures to be able to
benefit from again securely and, also, prioritizes the
implementations of sustainable land management.
In this context, alongside the rehabilitation activities
being executed by its members for years, during the
second half of 2013, under the leadership of TCMA,
to work on the rehabilitation of the raw material
quarry sites of the cement industry, a cooperation
with the General Directorate of Forestry, the Ministry
of Environment and Urbanisation and the General
Directorate of Mining Affairs was established.
Together with the progress of the works, since 2014
technical support from the related NGOs has been
obtained, intended for increasing the effectiveness
and the conscious approach on rehabilitation.
Within the works, TCMA completed the Turkish
translations of the Guidelines on Quarry Rehabilitation
and the Biodiversity Management Plan Guidance
documents prepared by the World Business Council
for Sustainable Development Cement Sustainability
Initiative. TCMA is, also, on the preparation of
publishing a guiding document planned to be
presented for the use of whole mining sector, notably
the cement sector, to make a correct planning, to
use the time and cost spent effectively, to create
alternatives in rehabilitation examples and thus to be
able to get correct environmental acquisitions during
the restoration activities implemented currently both
with the awareness possessed and by the national
legislative requirements within our sector.
Participating in all national and international events
regarding the rehabilitation of mining sites, TCMA
takes sharing best practices and retaining its pioneer
role as a mission.
