The foundations of
MKE are based on the
Conquest of Istanbul
MKE which constitutes the foundation of the Turkish defense industry still
meets the traditional armor requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces with
its effective, dynamic and efficient activities and contributes in our country’s
industry with its increasing capacity and potential. The core of the MKE
comes from the Cannon Foundry established by Fatih Sultan Mehmet after
the conquest of Istanbul, which got its current title in 1950.
