SSIK is set to:

• Adopt decisions in line with the general strategies and principles identified by the Defense Industry High
Coordination for the development of the defense industry.
• Undertake decisions on the production of domestic modern weapons and equipment or, where required,
through overseas procurement which are in accordance with the Strategic Plan of the TSK.
• Search for opportunities and guide public and private sector to establish production facilities devoted to
defence industry and monitor implementation planning, and undertake leading decisions for the state
participation in establishment of aforementioned facilities where necessary.
• Instruct SSM towards research and development of modern weapons and equipment to be supplied
together with producing protototypes, provide advace loans and determine long term orders and other
financial and economic incentives.
• Undertake decisions on defence industry product exports, offset, and bilateral trade..
• Coordinate the defense industry and related organizations.
• Determine the principles of the use of the Defense Industry Support Fund.

Savunma Sanayii İcra Komitesi’nin görevleri aşağıda yer aldığı gibidir.
• Savunma sanayiinin geliştirilmesi için tespit edilen genel strateji ve ilkeler istikametinde kararlar almak,
• Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri için Stratejik Hedef Planına ve Jandarma Genel Komutanlığı, Sahil Güvenlik Komutanlığı ve Emniyet
Genel Müdürlüğü için İçişleri Bakanlığı’nın güvenlik önceliklerine göre temini gerekli olan modern silah, araç ve gereçlerin
üretimi, yurt içinden gereği halinde yurt dışından tedariki hususunda karar almak,
• Kamu ve özel sektörün yabancı sermaye ve teknoloji katkısı ile savunmaya yönelik üretim tesisleri kurma imkânlarını
araştırmak, yönlendirmek ve tahakkuk planlarını takip etmek, bu gibi tesislerin kuruluşuna gerektiğinde Devletin iştiraki
için prensip kararı almak,
• Sağlanacak modern silah, araç ve gereçlerin araştırılması, geliştirilmesi, prototip imalî, avans verilmesi, uzun vadeli
siparişler ve diğer malî ve ekonomik teşviklerin tespiti istikametinde Savunma Sanayii Başkanlığı’na talimat vermek,
• Savunma sanayii ürünleri ihracatı ve offset ticareti ile karşılıklı ticaret konusunda kararlar almak,
• Savunma sanayii ile ilgili kuruluşlar arasında koordinasyonu sağlamak,
• Savunma Sanayii Destekleme Fonu’nun kullanım esaslarını tespit etmek.
• Savunma sanayii alanındaki insan kaynağının geliştirilmesi amacıyla Fondan verilecek eğitim destek miktarlarının
belirlenmesi ve personele yapılacak ödemeler hususlarında karar almak.
