Our defence industry

will become stronger

The defence industry sector continues achieving great successes. Now,
another step is ascended and the concept design of our national tank
‘Altay’ is completed.

Our unmanned aerial vehicle ‘Anka’ which can stay at 10 thousands of meters of altitude for 24
hours has begun its test flights. With the development and success of ‘Anka’, we will be the 3rd
country which can produce an unmanned aerial vehicle with strategic abilities after the USA and
Israel. Almost 150 mini unmanned aerial vehicles which have been manufactured domestically
have still been used by the Turkish Armed forces.
The first corvette warship MILGEM has been completely designed and constructed by our country
and begun its test runs. Our first combat helicopter ATAK is now in prototype production phase.
The jet engine has been produced and flown for the first time. The mission computer as the most
important control instrument of planes, helicopters and tanks has been produced. The production
activities of the training plane called as HURKUS have been initiated. The plane will be flying in the
next year.

These projects which develops our national defence industry will continue in the new term without
slowing down.

The first step for domestic seismic ship
We go on attack in petroleum search in seas. We have begun construction of our seismic search
ship for finding our own petroleum. It will become the first domestic seismic ship of Turkey.

The landing platform dock is coming
The domestic Landing Platform Dock (LPD) has been constructed in order to increase the high level
combat capacity of Turkish Naval Forces. In 5 years, LPDs will join the Turkish Navy. Only 7-8 navies
of the world have Landing Platform Docks (LPD).
National tank production is beginning
We have completed the design of the first Turkish Combat Tank ‘Altay’ as one of the biggest
objectives of the Turkish Defence Industry. The serial-production of ‘Altay’ tanks will begin in 2017.

Strong domestic defence industry
The domestic defence industry will be strengthened in any phase from design to production in
order to reduce foreign-source dependency in the defence industry field. Domestic research
and development projects and technology management will be attached great importance in
development of the defence industry.

Turkey will become a data center
Our country will become the call center and data center base of Europe and our region.
It will be ensured that Turkey will have at least one national company, at least one national brand
and at least one national product which we will hold the design and standards of it which will have
a say in the Global Information and Communication Technologies market.
The production of domestic cell phones will be supported and expanded and domestic product
use will be increased.

Cyber threats will be prevented
Until 2015, it will be ensured that the critical information infrastructures of our country are protected
from cyber threats. Continuous and regular improvements will be performed in the field of cyber
security and it will be provided that the domestic products and systems are developed.
